About us
Starmax is a manufacturer of recreation equipment, with its head office and production hall in Bąkowo near Gdańsk. We have been operating continuously since 2007, and outdoor gyms have been our speciality from the very start — that's where our story began. Today we create complete solutions for public spaces: from playgrounds, through activity zones, to rope parks and safety surfacing — all designed and manufactured in one place.
We have always looked for what doesn't yet exist — and developed it. We open new doors, create innovations and bring fresh ideas where others see set patterns. Our products and solutions come from the need to make things more interesting, better and more functional.

What we do
We design and manufacture modern, safe and durable equipment for outdoor gyms, playgrounds, activity zones and recreation spaces. We create places that encourage movement, support inclusion and have a positive impact on the everyday life of communities.
As a company open to Europe from the start, we have served customers in many different countries. This means we understand the varied needs and requirements of international markets, which translates into flexibility, experience and a high standard of service. From the beginning we have focused on quality, safety and technological development.
Production
Our modern production hall in Bąkowo near Gdańsk is the centre where we carry out the full manufacturing process for playground and sports equipment — from raw material to finished product. On site we handle:

machining of steel and structural elements,

production of timber elements,

CNC machining of plastics,

production of rope nets,
-
powder coating and cataphoresis,
-
final assembly and preparation for transport.
This gives us full control over every stage — from design to the final product.

Quality and materials
Each of our products is made from top-class materials — structural steel, timber with enhanced durability, abrasion-resistant ropes and flexible EPDM granulate. We use only raw materials with quality certificates, and the entire production process follows European safety standards.
In our outdoor gyms, playgrounds and sports equipment we also use modern, proven materials such as HDPE and HPL panels (resistant to UV radiation and mechanical damage), stainless steel, hot-dip galvanised steel, as well as laminated glued timber, pressure-impregnated timber and hard robinia (black locust) wood.
Using these materials ensures the high durability and appearance of our equipment, even under heavy use and a changing climate. As a result, our products serve users for many years — regardless of location or weather conditions.

Powder coating
The durability of our playgrounds and outdoor gyms doesn't start with colour — it starts with steel. Every element passes through our own blast-cleaning line (steel shot blasting), which thoroughly cleans the structure and prepares it to receive the paint coating. This is a crucial stage that determines the adhesion and longevity of the anti-corrosion protection.
We have a curing oven measuring 620 × 220 × 120 cm, so we can coat large structural elements in one piece — without joints or compromises. We run the process to the QUALISTEELCOAT standard, and the architectural powders and primers we use hold Qualicoat certificates.
Depending on the element's intended use, we apply three protection systems:

hot-dip galvanising + epoxy primer + polyester paint (C5),
-
epoxy primer + polyester paint (C4),
- cataphoresis + epoxy primer + polyester paint (C5).
The result? Coatings resistant to corrosion, mechanical damage and harsh weather. That's exactly why our equipment keeps its appearance and performance for years — even in heavily used public spaces.

We reduce CO₂ emissions
For years we have produced our own energy from a photovoltaic installation, powering our production plant with clean electricity. So far we have generated over 110 MWh of energy, which has cut CO₂ emissions by more than 52 tonnes — the equivalent of planting 72 trees.
On average we produce around 28 MWh a year, that is nearly 77 kWh a day. This genuinely reduces our carbon footprint and, step by step, we are building more responsible production — without grand declarations, but with concrete figures.

R&D and 3D design
We use 2D and 3D design tools, which allow us to create precise models of our equipment and complete site development concepts — both as technical drawings and as attractive, photorealistic visualisations. This is huge support for architects, investors and our customers, who want to see their project "live" before work even begins.
Starmax also has a dedicated team of design engineers who form our in-house research and development office. This is where new equipment and innovative solutions are constantly created — often to individual order, tailored to specific customer needs and requirements. This lets us deliver unusual concepts and unique projects — whatever the scale of the investment.
In addition, we have our own design department, which develops:

designs for building permits,
- 3D visualisations and spatial analyses.
This is support that landscape architects, local authorities, private investors and construction companies are all happy to use.
Customer service and support
At Starmax we place great importance not only on product quality, but also on the quality of service. Our customer service department provides comprehensive support at every stage of cooperation — from preparing quotes, through technical consultations, to advice on choosing the best solutions.
Once a project is complete, we remain at your disposal — our after-sales department handles professional support for complaints, warranty and post-warranty servicing. We ensure a fast response, reliability and an individual approach to every case.

Safety and compliance
All our products meet the requirements of the relevant European standards and are tested by independent certification bodies.

We treat the safety of users, especially children, as a priority. Our designs are created with comfort, ergonomics and durability in mind.

Let's meet at a trade fair
We build relationships not only over the phone, but above all through face-to-face meetings. We love the energy of industry trade fairs — that's where we can exchange experiences and present our latest playground, outdoor gym and recreation equipment designs.
In 2025 we had the honour of exhibiting at the Expo world exhibition in Osaka and at the prestigious FSB fair in Cologne (our sales team pictured). For us this continues a fine tradition, following, among others, a successful edition of FSB in 2023. Every such event is a chance to show the quality and innovation of our solutions in person.

A passion that transforms playgrounds
My name is Marek Starczewski, and I named Starmax by combining the start of my surname and first name. As a graduate in economics I could have focused on numbers, but I preferred to build places that bring people together. We were pioneers — we created the outdoor gym market in Poland from scratch, under the Outdoor Fitness Center brand.
The breakthrough moment came in 2014, when we built our own production hall. Today Starmax is a team of fantastic people: from design engineers and welders to designers and installers. We are not a big, anonymous corporation — we are an agile Polish company where every product passes through the hands of specialists.
Even though I manage the whole organisation, my favourite place is still the R&D department. Designing new equipment — whether outdoor gyms or playgrounds — is my passion. I love watching a design on the computer turn into a finished product that genuinely improves quality of life and brings joy to children. We create more than equipment; we create the energy to be active, and we still have an appetite for more.
